DR4We believe there are unalienable rights attached to personal information usage that should be respected by enterprises and governments in the digital domain. A core pillar of these rights is users being at the heart of the management, use and sharing of the data they create. Users should be free to carry out their work and private activities online with the trust that the data they choose to share is handled appropriately and the data they choose to keep private is protected from exposure.

Digitteria’s sister NGO, The Internet Foundation (IF) has been a pioneer in the call for the establishment of a Universal Declaration of Digital Rights  (UD2R) as a natural extension of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and leads an initiative to draft such a treaty and have it ratified by the United Nations in international law.
